Welcome to Sassy Writes!

July 1: #QoTD

Black Lives have always and will always matter. In fact, matter is the bare minimum of how a Black life should be described. Black Lives...

It's Time.

Like many people, I have spent the last couple of weeks and months starting to educate myself on and learning about things...

Black Lives Matter

I have never understood racism. Maybe because there is absolutely zero logic to it. How can you hate a person, a stranger, so much that...

May Twenty-two: QoTD

I am the first (okay, maybe second) to admit I do not know everything, and one thing I do know is that I will never know everything.

What's Next?

In uncertain times, we often tend to try to make sense of what may be next. There's a reason that organised religions have existed...

May Sixteen: #QotD & Poem

A Secret Love

I adore Taylor Swift. Adore as in I will travel across continents, defend her name against petty strangers, stand outside in the pouring...

Gods of The Ants

I know I haven’t been writing everyday like I planned. Truth be told, I’m struggling a bit during week 4 of this lockdown/quarantine...

The Story

How Sassy Was Born

Once upon a time, the world went into lockdown because of a nasty little disease called COVID-19. Like many others, I quickly became bored, restless, angsty. For as long as I can remember, whenever I've felt anything (including boredom, angst & restlessness) I've written about it. So, with a head full of ideas and spotty WiFi connection, I started a blog that features all kinds of my writing; thoughts, poems, stories and anecdotal incidents that would be unbelievable if I didn't happen to experience them first hand. Sassy is me at my best, worst, most complicated and sassy.
